Hair Share
"this joke could be percieved (sic) in bad taste, not because he pretended to kill himself over a bad haircut, but because he pretended to kill himself on camera like someone actually did on a webcam while people were watching around the time this video was done. i understand that he's showing the vain perspective of people who overreact after a bad haircut when it's just hair and it grows back...."
"i liked the vanity hair one ! haaha! i do the same thing when i get my hair cut"
"I liked the Vanity Hair one though, and you've obviously got a really talented group of people together (which makes me envious). Definitely like to see more stuff in the future, so I subscribed."

Genius Of The Highest Quality
"Obviously I meant 'random shit' in the sense of 'genius of the highest quality' - my use of English can be rather poor at times."
And since no-one else is writing about us at all, I'm posting that here by way of a review.

(Re)view
Yet more reactions to a few of our videos:
"You are hilarious... They're very good, I will eagerly be awaiting more."
"Oooooh awesome!!! :-D"
"Good luck to you anyway your video was amusing x"
"Hi, I was just on your profile from the 'noostar' website and think you're great. I watched a couple of your videos and thought they were hilarious."
"These are fun and good – I watched about 4 of them in the end! They are rather ‘cute’! And yes, that is a compliment. I found the characters very easy to be drawn into"
"hey guys, like the channel, x."
“Enjoyed this video - good stuff!!”
“As Paul Weller once stuttered, 'that's enter-ter-ter-ter-ter-ter-ter-ter-ter-ter-ter-ter-ter-ter-te-te-te-te-te-te-te-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-tainmen-n-n-n-t'. Then formed The Stammer Council”
"I really like the rehearsal clip"
"You guys are really funny!"
"I like."
"Pretty funny!...(And nice camera/editing, too.) I watched them and the acting is very nice and natural, but I have a REALLY short attention span and they didn't grab me and make me watch til the end. Maybe it's just because they're about writing and acting, and I find it difficult to watch comedy about making comedy without feeling like a self-indulgent wanker."

Phill Your Boots

He had this to say of them:
"Both sterling but I loved the 'actors one' To be frank the laughter sketch would be just as funny half as long."
Thanks Phill.

David Schneider

"Good performances. Like the reality. Good idea - not sure it sustained. Would have cut it down and just brought out the best bits (the glimpse at the script was v funny. Liked the start, the choreographing) but cos it's a bit long we have time to ask ourselves what was the reality of the script? Why did they think this was funny? a bit too much. Also, ideally you'd shoot it more statically but that's in an ideal world with money and stuff. Very much liked the perf's tho."

Ivor Doesn't Mince His Words
Ivor Dembina is without a doubt one of the best Jewish sado-masochist stand-up comedians working in Edinburgh today.Having seen the laughter sketch and the actor's rehearsals, here are his thoughts:

He Are Klang
We Are Klang (above). We Aren't Klang, We Are Mr Carruthers Presents. The guy on the right: he are Marek Larwood. Here's what he had to say after watching our various bits of video nuggetry (despite being lied to about the duration):
"That was more than three fucking minutes! I watched all of them. Really enjoyed them, the actors one is good too. Which one are you? You should send these to an agent."

Thanks Marek.

What to say, Emma K?

"Actually I thought that was rather good. It's too long though - you need to cut it in half and I couldn't hear the punchline at all - and I replayed the ending three times and still couldn't hear it properly so you need to address that. As an idea though it's good and you all performed it very well. Those are my thoughts."

Practice Makes Practice

"Good job"
"Nearly every other act ive commented on I havent had really that much to say about, but you are genuinely funny! Kinda reminds me of The Office style dry sense of humour. I seriously couldn't stop laughing. Hope you do well"
"Thank you for sharing with me"
"These people are good!"
"Hahahaha! Bloody loved it!!! MORE!"
"This fellow has a rubber face! Look! It's actually made of rubber! Real, live rubber! Like a rubber. I'd like to see the finished piece."
"Loving the dance moves!!! They made me happy :)"
"Great vid by the way...Fantastic, actually. Very lol."
"your vid was excellent"
"Great stuff! I’ve voted and now I’m watching the videos on youtube"
"Very funny stuff...Big up BRUM. "Hope you like jammin too!" "Who was That"..I think it was UB40 but I'm not sure."
"So there are actually people on Noostar with talent. I was have my doubts. Great stuff. Should be on Comedy Lab."

Hearse Again
We hearsed. We rehearsed. You reviewed.

Some more reactions to Rehearsals video:
"Loved it! I think the second dance sequence was my favorite."
"It certainly looked fancy, very good quality...Very nice video indeed."
"It got more than a few good laughs out of me."
"haha '....so can one of you get an erection please' don't beat around the bush now will you"
"i really like this video =D i've voted 'funny' for it too =)"
"i watched it earlier and thought it was funny....loved the dancing skit and singing! =D"
"lol your 'vocal warm-ups' cracked me up =D but i think all the windows in my house just smashed =P"
"'Turns out it was an imaginary hat'. God bless ludicrousness. More!"
"Birmingham has rhythm? I can name three things to prove that statement wrong.
1. UB40 are from Birmingham
2. Cleopatra are from Birmingham
3. Steven Robert Francis is from Birmingham.
All of the above have no rhythm. Fact."
"I saw this the other day and it made me laugh - especially the rasta bean bag wig! You guys are good together and i prefer it to the writer's meeting becuase there 'shit happening'. Really funny stuff though and looking forward to the next one."
"Still voting :) Love to see more, you guys are awesome. This must be really hard to write/construct."

Rehearse Review

Some reactions to the Rehearsals video:
"Lovin' the groovy moves Andy :o)"
"...he was obviously a fan of New Kids On The Block with floor-humping like THAT!"
"I laughed so hard a little bit of wee came out!!!!"
"Just watched your latest video. Absolutely loved it. Was having a bad day until i feel about laughing x"
"My two favourite bits are where you're trying hard not to actually laugh when he's dancing and making 'music'....tee hee hee! Nice vid"
"Love your work!"
"haha, that was really good, very well produced as well, nice camera work. I just commented on you tube. Loved the line 'Without rhythm Birmingham would be full of immigrants.' hahaha."
"lol 'they have a love and lust relationship', love the birmingham bit haha."
"So when do tickets go on sale? If this rehearsal is anything to go by the show is going to be great."
"I just watch the latest Mr Carruthers video- Fantastic;) Really funny. And I loved your hair."
"very nicely done"

Hair-Dos & Don'ts
"Can we see the writer's meeting for this one please?"
"ok....i knew women could be vain about their hair......but pretending to kill yourself is a little extreme don't you think?...it's just with someone having recently committed suicide over the internet with people watching...it makes it a little inappropriate. i mean i get it....he does controversial jokes and skits...but if you ask me this one was done in bad taste.most of the other stuff posted is pretty good =D...but that's just my opinion"
"I think that the most productive thing to do after watching any comedy video is to bitch about all the possible ways in which it might be considered offensive or inappropriate. Having an opinion on some other aspect--such as, for instance, whether or not it's funny--is so yesterday."
"very funny...!!"
"quite funny! It does touch an a serious subject to a lot of people. But he makes you see how silly it is to get upset over something that grows back. Hollywood (at least in the USA) has taught us that your outward appearance should be of utmost importance...so much so that people do become devestated over crappy haircuts and cheap clothing. Maybe I'm reading too much into it."
"I really liked it"
"By my hairy axe wound, that's bleak. Was blatantly thinking "but his feet can touch the floor tho... did that mean he broke his neck as he put his weight into the noose? you'd have to be a pretty good knot tying person to be able to make sure the noose would break your neck on the first fall... so was he perhaps a member of the scouts or something...oh. oh, it's finished. My that was bleak. When's the funny bit coming...?""

Everyone's A Critic
Yet more reactions to A Writer's Meeting on Funny Or Die and YouTube:"Nice vid Mr Carruthers.Lisa put me on to your channel. I will peruse the other episodes at leisure. Keep it coming." (Thanks Lisa.)
"Last night I had some time to kill before going out so I figured I'd watch them all...and I have to say, I'm really impressed. With all three of you. It got quite a few laughs out of me and the updated knock-knock one was almost painfully funny...It's worth pursuing...I'm not trying to get all gay on you (that'll come later!!!) but you really do have some serious talent...keep on it. It would be a crime if you didn't. I don't know if that was a pep-talk or what. More likely it's just my response to there being only five videos on youtube. Not only do I want to see more, but I imagine a lot of other people--if they had seen any of them--would want more. Great stuff. And keep at it."
"I've got loads if urine you could use...if you want"
"I missed all the jokes because I was distracted by the eye-candy on the far right."
"Hey there, love it.'Upstairs Downstairs...having sex, Friends...who have sex, Spaced...vagina. Just adding parts of a body onto a sitcom now.' Great guys"
"I'm wondering if you guys could perform at my son's funeral. He will only be three when he dies, if all goes according to plan."
"Awesome stuff, really liked it."
"they really were very good. Even when the material isn't quite at its strongest there's still a sense of three individuals working very well with each other, and that sustains the mood and keeps you watching...Anyway, yeah. I voted "funny" for the videos on Funny or Die, but I don't know what that site is, and unless I can actually sentence bad comedians to death it probably won't interest me to explore further"
"Sooo good to see Mr. Carruthers slowly splatting himself over the screens of innocent little giggle seekers! =D"
"You guys are so funny, i can't wait for the chance to see you on stage again. And I'm eagerly anticipating the next batch of vids :)"
All the videos still have 5 stars on YouTube.

Video Ga Ga
Some more reactions to A Writer's Meeting on Funny Or Die:"hah..you guys are awesome...when's the next part?"
"Been on Mr Carruthers. I tried. They tried. Bless them.I'm sure they will be brilliant, if they came out of the kitchen."
"Great work guys! Would love to see more from you!"
"Er, yes-I suppose the 'trying' in "trying to be funny" is the operative word there.I have to say I don't think they'll be the next Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, or Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, but I suppose it's a valiant stab at comedy (though I do feel that this is just someone taping random conversations between three men on a Saturday afternoon). And what's with the cling-film tablecloth, and man in a monkey mask?"
"This is just great guys, a joy from start to finish! Loving the other vids as well, hope to see parts 1 and 3 up here soon!"

Video nasties
Some more reactions to the videos on Funny Or Die:"ok...i watched it and i gotta tell you, it didn't exactly grab me....it's just full of cheap shots like "her majesty's secret cervix"??!...the whole thing is about sex!!..............men......i just pressed the die button lol"
"Everybody Rapes Chris was funny. I like how the camera doesn't change shots. It was appropriate for this. I liked it."
"I don't know what to say... it's not my cup of tea?
All that porn talk...
Men nowadays, eh?
I hope I watched the right one..."
"grrrrrreatttttt!!!! Wanna see more and more..."
"oooh i feel so much better after pressing the "die" button!....the whole thing is aimed at men....i think they're the only ones who will find it funny...."
"you guys are sick!!...I love it!!"

A Viewer's Meeting, Part Tony
Two hit wonder, fifth dwarfer and refrigerator-bearing circumnavigator Tony Hawks took time out from not being an American champion skateboarder to comment on one of our YouTube videos. When shown The Laughter Sketch and asked to be brutal his response was:
"No need to be brutal - because it's excellent. Fully expect to see you guys on the TV soon (not that I watch much). What's happening in your world? Keep it up. You're GOOD!"
Thanks Tony.
