The 1996 movie Trainspotting, directed by Danny Boyle and based on a book by Irvine Welsh is all about the drugs. Mostly the heroin, partly the methadone and barely the speed.
While the film was in cinemas many journalist and idiot commented that the film's name was an odd one because "there are no trains in it."
The name of the film is indeed odd and intriguing and arresting, but not because there are no trains in it. The name of the film is indeed odd and intriguing and arresting, because it's a great name. Furthermore there aren't no trains in it.
Renton's less famous "It's shite being Scottish" speech is delivered having just disembarked from a train.
Idiots.
