Post-Post-Void

We seem to have something of a post backlog as now yesterday's post hasn't materialised and we have a post here (this one) telling us that we seem to have something of a post backlog as now yesterday's post hasn't materialised and that really isn't helping.

Post-Void

This is a post informing you that yesterday's post was posted today.

Sadly this means that today's post wasn't posted today. Here's hoping it'll wait until tomorrow.

The Void

Due to problems beyond my control (and problems within my control as well) there was no post today.

Sorry.

This has been posted after the fact.

Seven Of Us Can Run This Ship Properly

This blog features a few references to Blake's 7:

Paul Darrow played Avon in 51 episodes.

Shades features a photo from Aftermath.

Accessorise uses an image from Killer.

Recruitmental features a shot from Headhunter.

• Soma is Narcofiction.

• There really are 52 episodes of Blake's 7 as stated in Yankee.

Orbit is the name of a fourth season episode.

Theresa May?

Why would anyone name their house after the current Home Secretary, Tory MP for Maidenhead and Rod Hull lookalike?

Unless you were planning to knock it down?

I Have A Bad Feeling About This

This blog has included a number of posts that reference to Star Wars:

Hutt's There references Jabba The Hutt, a character who features in Star Wars, Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi, Star Wars, Episode I: The Phantom Menace and the special edition of Star Wars, Episode IV: A New Hope.

• "Laugh It Up Fuzzball" is a line from Star Wars, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.

Pete, Part Three is Peter Cushing as Grand Moff Tarkin in Star Wars, Episode IV: A New Hope.

• Deathsticks are Narcofiction seen in Star Wars, Episode II: Attack Of The Clones.

A Longer Time Ago... may just be the most adorable photo ever taken.

The Eye Of The Beholder

It isn't, but somehow it looks a bit rude, doesn't it?

It seems that filthy, like beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The Small Rouge One

I am a geek and as such this blog is chock full of references to things that I like. It's like a disease.
These posts were all informed by my fondness for Red Dwarf:

Narcofiction is a big list of fictional drugs: Bliss and Ultrazone turned up in Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers and Beyond A Joke respectively.

sdrawkcab is backwards backwards, I probably wouldn't have done a post backwards if it weren't for Backwards, the episode and subsequently the novel.

• Rimmer tried and failed to learn Esperanto in the first two series.

• Kryten has a problem with Ketchup in Beyond A Joke.

• Holograms are marked with an H.

• Rimmer got a scar as a result of Duel as mentioned in Series VIII. Although I'd be amazed if Andy or Mike knew that when they mentioned it in Duel.

Gimping may be common enough word, I bet it's something you do everyday, but it's a word I first encountered in Red Dwarf.

Robert Llewellyn played Kryten in 43 episodes (here he is wearing a carrot).

Norman Lovett played Holly in 21 episodes.

Tony Hawks appeared in 5 episodes.

Ainsley Harriot appeared in Emohawk - Polymorph II & Can't Smeg, Won't Smeg

Adolf Hitler made a special guest star appearance in Timesides as himself.

Red Alert is similar to a Holly joke.

Janet Street-Porter was Head of Art & Culture at BBC2 when during the filming of Series VI and when she received the script for Gunmen Of The Apocalypse she sent out a memo that production for the episode must stop immediately because she believed it too difficult and too expensive to film. By the time her memo reached the Red Dwarf film crew, filming had already wrapped.

• One of my secrets concerns the gunmen on the grassy knoll, whose identity is revealed in Tikka To Ride.

Win A Holiday contains a gag I shamelessly stole from a leaflet in the Beat The Geek DVD.

Iain Lee Is A Cunt was inspired by the fact that Iain Lee is a cunt and his misquoting comments on Ganymede & Titan in his podcast.

Bed Dwarf was a sitcom porn.

Here are some Red Dwarf related posts on a different blog.

Yankee

There are 52 stars on this flag.

There are also 52 weeks in the year. Coincidence?

There are also 52 cards in a pack (not including Jokers). Coincidence?

There are also 52 episodes of Blake's 7. Coincidence?
